Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure & AWS Management
Design, provision, and manage core AWS infrastructure including VPCs, EKS, ECS, RDS, Route 53, and CloudFront.
Architect multi-account environments following the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
Execute cost-optimization strategies, including Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, and resource rightsizing.
Implement governance and security tools such as CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and AWS Organizations SCPs.
Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Develop and refactor Terraform modules for standardized cloud infrastructure deployment.
Manage Terraform Cloud workspaces, remote state backends, and policy-as-code (Sentinel or OPA).
Author Ansible playbooks and roles for server configuration, application deployment, and compliance.
Maintain idempotent automation to reduce manual toil and configuration drift across dynamic environments.
Container Platforms & CI/CD
Administer Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA), managing upgrades, node scaling, and RBAC.
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI and Azure DevOps.
Implement GitOps workflows with ArgoCD for declarative and auditable deployments.
Integrate security scanning (SAST, container scanning) and "shift-left" testing into all pipeline gates.
Security, Reliability & Observability
Embed security controls throughout the CI/CD lifecycle and implement secrets management via AWS Secrets Manager.
Build end-to-end observability solutions using AWS CloudWatch, defining and tracking SLOs/SLIs.
Lead incident response and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for platform-level issues.
Maintain architectural decision records (ADRs) and detailed operational runbooks.
Qualifications
Experience: 8+ years in DevOps/Cloud Engineering with a focus on enterprise AWS environments.
AWS Mastery: Deep expertise in VPC design, IAM, EKS, and multi-account architecture.
Automation Expert: Advanced proficiency in Terraform/Terraform Cloud and Ansible.
Container Specialist: Proven experience administering OpenShift (ROSA) and Docker-based virtualization.
CI/CD & GitOps: Hands-on experience with GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, and ArgoCD.
Security Acumen: Strong understanding of vulnerability management, hardening against company benchmarks, and compliance enforcement.
Linux Systems: Expert knowledge of Linux environments (CentOS, Ubuntu, or CoreOS) and scripting (Python, Bash, Node.js).
Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to mentor junior team members and collaborate across diverse business areas.
