    Are you a social worker looking to impact a child's life? Stockton on Tees Borough Council are currently looking for a Children Senior Practitioner on a full time basis to join a busy team to support in assessment referrals into the service whereby concerns are raised about the welfare and safeguarding of children.Responsibilities: Assessing all new referrals received into Children's ServicesCovering everything from CIN work to complex child protection enquiries. The team is co-located with other services / agencies and candidates will be working closely with others to provide timely support to children, alongside assessment, from the start. Requirements:Candidates are expected to have a minimum of 2 year's experience, with excellent skills and knowledge in the completion of Single Assessments, undertaking Safeguarding enquiries, experience in managing Child Protection cases, cases within both Private and Public Proceedings and knowledge of the Public Law Outline. Candidates are required to complete in-depth reports in both a timely and analytic manner. Stockton offer flexible working, incorporating condensed working hours (e.g. working 37 hours over 4 days rather than 5 days), a designated working area, free paid access to core mandatory training, free on-site office car parking, opportunities for home working in line with service need and paid mileage at 46.9p per mile. Additionally, we have a caseload management point system to indicate individual staff and team workloads as well as providing regular case supervision. To reduce demands on Social Work time, we also have designated admin provision including effective typing support and a contracted Resource provider to facilitate supervised contacts. Stockton are also able to offer those individuals living outside of the North East region a maximum of 3 nights paid accommodation. Stockton will make full accommodation arrangements on behalf of those individuals where this applies. Stockton Borough Council are also promoting flexible working from home, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic , the local authority will provide agency workers with full office equipment and virtual support from line managers . At the moment we are currently in the stages for workers to have the availability to work from the office and also home as this current role will be flexible .
