Role and Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced Linux Server Administrator to join our dynamic team. Your primary responsibility is to provide technical guidance and support to clients in managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Linux-based servers. Reporting to the IT Manager, the Linux Administrator will be responsible for the following:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and provide technical solutions to meet their business objectives.
- Install and configure Linux servers, including hardware and software, and monitor and manage them to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network, hardware, and software issues using diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Ensure the security of the Linux environment by implementing and managing access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure business continuity in the event of a disaster.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls, and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Constantly monitor system performance and optimize it to improve the system's response time, scalability, and availability.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users and end-users to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Configure and maintain web servers, application servers, database servers, and other infrastructure components.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and recommend solutions that align with the business needs of clients.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in administration and maintenance of Linux server infra in a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Experience with Qualys or similar tools for conducting vulnerability assessments and remediation plans.
- Understanding of IT security protocols, including network security, firewalls, antivirus tools, and vulnerability management.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a range of stakeholders.
- Good Understanding of ITIL framework.
