- Designs solutions by producing various complex models that describe each component sufficiently to form a blueprint of the solution to be implemented. May provide guidance to more junior team members
- Assesses requirements and relevant business and IT data to identify opportunities to create business value, and assists in the translation of these into an effective solutions architecture
- Reviews the full systems architecture currently in place and working with the technical teams to recommend solutions to improve it. Assess the compatibility, integration and technical specifications of multiple products/ services/ architecture components to recommend appropriate, timely and necessary improvements or enhancements
- Executes competitive analyses and market validation activities, such as benchmarking, trend analysis and prototype testing. Assesses viability of basic product features
- Executes troubleshooting for problems of medium to high complexity and support through program and solution architecture lifecycles, escalating where necessary
- Leads architecture development for small projects and supports architectural efforts for large projects (e.g., a project module or existing technology map review) or complex components of projects
